Does Shotnest need an internet connection?
No. Search, text recognition, and cleanup work offline. You only need a connection to make purchases, to download the optional AI Deep Search model, to look up place names for location features, and for iOS to fetch iCloud Photos originals.
Why don't all my photos show up in search yet?
Shotnest builds its search index on your device the first time, which can take a while for large libraries. Keep the app open, or plug in your iPhone so iOS lets indexing continue in the background. Photos stored only in iCloud (with "Optimize iPhone Storage" on) may be indexed later, once a local preview is available.
How big is the AI Deep Search model, and which devices support it?
Three sizes are available: about 2.2 GB, 3.4 GB, and 5 GB. They need an iPhone or iPad with at least 6 GB of memory (8 GB for the largest), for example iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 14 and later. Use Wi-Fi and keep the app open during download. You can delete the model at any time in Settings to free up space. The regular search model is built in and works on every supported device.
Will Shotnest delete photos without asking?
Never. Every deletion asks for iOS confirmation, and deleted photos go to the Recently Deleted album in the Photos app, where you can recover them for 30 days. You can also protect photos so they are never suggested for cleanup.
What's free and what's included in Pro?
New users get 7 days of full access. After that, cleanup tools, library browsing, 2 collage layouts, and 1 Pro Select project remain free. Shotnest Pro unlocks natural-language and text search, AI Deep Search, all collage layouts, unlimited Pro Select projects, browse by location, batch tags, and watermarks. Pro is available monthly, yearly, or as a one-time lifetime purchase.
How do I restore my purchase on a new device?
Sign in with the same Apple Account, open Shotnest β Profile β Settings β Pro, and tap "Restore Purchases" on the Pro screen.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Open iOS Settings β tap your name β Subscriptions β Shotnest Pro β Cancel Subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date to avoid being charged for the next period. For refunds, visit
reportaproblem.apple.com. Apple handles all payments.
Shotnest says it can't access my photos.
Go to iOS Settings β Privacy & Security β Photos β Shotnest and choose "Full Access". With "Limited Access", Shotnest can only search and clean the photos you selected.
How do I change the app language?
Shotnest follows your device language. To choose a language just for Shotnest, go to iOS Settings β Apps β Shotnest β Language.
